Independent pair Goh Sze Fei and Nur Izzuddin RumsaniMalaysia’s men’s doubles — face pressure to secure the championship title at the 2025 Asian Championships, starting tomorrow in Ningbo.

Malaysian badminton legend Razif Sidek highlights the importance of recovery after a disappointing performance at the All England Open — a tournament that extended Malaysia’s men’s doubles title drought since 2007.

“The men’s doubles pair must fix the damage from All England and show their character at BAC. They must fight for the title in Ningbo,” Razif stated as reported by NST.

The Asian Championships holds a similar record — Malaysia’s last men’s doubles title was claimed by Choon Tan Fook and Lee Wan Wah, who won consecutive championships in 2006 and 2007.

As the pressure mounts, Goh Sze Fei and Nur Izzuddin Rumsani—will need to display resilience and adaptability in order to break the long title drought.

Their performance in the upcoming tournament could shape the future of Malaysia’s men’s doubles prospects on the international stage.
