Global Esports’ interim coach Danny “Elevated” Chell has shared his thoughts on their upcoming final VCT Pacific: Stage 1 2025 group-stage match against fan-favorite Paper Rex this Friday (April 18), expressing confidence that his squad can exploit openings to secure an upset.

Yesterday (April 14), PRX clinched their first points of the stage with a 2-1 victory over Detonation FocusMe, eliminating the Japanese squad. The result leaves PRX tied with Global Esports in 4th place, setting the stage for a high-stakes showdown to determine the lower bracket ticket to the playoffs.

Historically, GE has rarely been viewed as a team capable of challenging—let alone defeating—PRX. Elevated, however, believes the Singaporean squad is currently vulnerable, with mental resilience likely to decide Friday’s critical match.

“Preparation wise, I mean they (PRX) are obviously going through a bunch of stuff as well. Like, a lot of teams have issues and PRX is a team that a lot of people kind of looked up to in APAC, myself included.

“I’m sure there’ll probably be some stuff we can exploit. But honestly, it is gonna come down to who wants to be in the playoffs more,” he said during a recent VCT Pacific 2025 interview.

Statistically, Friday’s clash promises to be tightly contested, despite the disparity between the two teams’ track records.

GE has to adapt their playstyle without head coach Preston “Juv3nile” Dornon, who was removed from the competition following sexual harassment allegations. Meanwhile, PRX has struggled with inconsistency without Aaron “mindfreak” Leonheart in their roster.
