US Volleyball Star Giovanna Milana Attends Megawati Hangestri’s Wedding in Jember

Giovanna Milana, a player for the United States women’s volleyball team, demonstrated her close friendship with Megawati Hangestri Pertiwi by attending her wedding to Dio Novandra at Roudhatul Muchlisin Mosque, Kaliwates, Jember.

Their friendship blossomed during their time as teammates at Daejeon JungKwanJang Red Sparks in the Korean V-League last season. The duo played a key role in helping the team qualify for the spring tournament, marking their first appearance in seven years.

“When I heard Mega was getting married, I asked her to tell me the date,” Milana shared.

“I told her I would be there because it’s very important for me to witness the beginning of her new life with Dio.”

The 28-year-old outside hitter continued:

“She’s like my sister. It means a lot to me to come all the way to Indonesia and be present for her special day.”

Although Milana now competes in the US Volleyball League, after a brief stint with Jakarta Pertamina Enduro, her bond with Megawati remains strong. The visit highlights the lasting connection between the two athletes beyond the court.
