Giorgio Chiellini joins LAFC ownership group

Giorgio Chiellini has officially joined the ownership group of Los Angeles FC (LAFC) — the Major League Soccer (MLS) club where he concluded his playing career before retirement.

“Joining the LAFC ownership group is a great honor for me. When I arrived here as a player, I immediately felt that there was something special about this club,” Chiellini stated.

The former Italian national team defender has been serving as LAFC’s player development coach since early last year — while also holding an executive position at Juventus focusing on relations with national and international football institutions.

LAFC’s lead managing owner, Bennett Rosenthal, welcomed Chiellini’s addition as an owner — praising the leadership and professionalism consistently demonstrated by the Juventus legend.

Chiellini achieved remarkable success throughout his career, including:

• Earning 117 caps with the Italian national team
• Lifting the Euro 2020 trophy as captain
• Winning 9 consecutive Serie A titles with Juventus
• Securing the 2022 MLS Cup with LAFC
