Ginting and Gregoria prepare for comeback at Japan Open 2025

According to the Main and Qualifying document released by BWF, the Indonesian badminton team will compete at full strength in Japan Open 2025 — including the return of two key players who were absent for extended periods.

Anthony Sinisuka Ginting and Gregoria Mariska Tunjung are included in the player list for the upcoming tournament at Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium on July 15-20. This Super 750 level tournament is mandatory for world’s top players ranked in the top 15 for singles and top 10 for doubles.

Ginting — Tokyo Olympics bronze medalist — has been absent since early year due to a shoulder injury, while Gregoria hasn’t played since late April’s Sudirman Cup due to vertigo.

“I really hope to compete at the Japan Open,” Gregoria told media during last week’s Indonesia Open.

Although both players are registered, physical condition evaluation is still needed before confirming their participation in this prestigious tournament.
