Gerald Vanenburg targets Indonesia U-23 championship at ASEAN Cup 2025

Gerald Vanenburg — the new Indonesia U-23 coach — has expressed his ambition to win the championship at ASEAN Cup U-23 2025, which will be held in Jakarta and Bekasi.

The tournament, taking place from July 15-29, 2025, will mark Vanenburg’s debut as Indonesia U-23 coach — a position he holds alongside his role as Patrick Kluivert’s assistant in the senior team.

In this competition, Indonesia U-23 is drawn in Group A — alongside Malaysia, Philippines, and Brunei Darussalam.

“I always aim to win in every match,” stated Vanenburg, who has experience as a Champions League winner.

PSSI has set high expectations — hoping for the Young Garuda squad to lift the championship trophy in this regional tournament.
