Gerald Vanenburg sets championship target for Indonesia U-23 national team

Coach Gerald Vanenburg has stated Indonesia U-23 national team’s ambition to win the ASEAN Cup U-23 2025 championship that will be held in Jakarta and Bekasi.

The Young Garuda are placed in Group A alongside three neighboring countries:

  • Malaysia
  • Philippines
  • Brunei Darussalam

The tournament will take place at two venues — Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium Jakarta and Patriot Candrabhaga Stadium Bekasi.

“We’re not coming to this tournament to become runners-up. We must win every match,” Vanenburg emphasized.

Indonesia U-23 national team will start their campaign against Brunei Darussalam, followed by matches against Philippines, and will conclude the group phase against Malaysia — all matches are scheduled for this month.
