Gerald Vanenburg confident Indonesia U-23 will win ASEAN Cup

Gerald Vanenburg — the new Indonesia U-23 coach who also assists Patrick Kluivert with the senior team — shows high optimism ahead of ASEAN Cup U-23 2025.

The tournament to be held at Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium and Patriot Candrabhaga Stadium places Young Garuda in Group A — alongside Malaysia, Philippines, and Brunei Darussalam.

The Dutch coach who joined PSSI six months ago conducted direct player scouting — observing their performances at their respective clubs late into the night to get the best team composition.

“I searched by myself until dawn to find players that meet expectations,” stated Vanenburg.

The selected players have gathered since last month for training camp — preparing for the tournament that will start in two weeks.
