Gerald Vanenburg confident Indonesia U-23 can defeat Malaysia

According to Bolasport.com, Indonesia U-23 coach Gerald Vanenburg expressed his optimism ahead of the match against Malaysia at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium — the final Group A game of ASEAN Cup U-23 2025.

The Young Garuda only needs one point to advance to the next phase — while Malaysia must secure a victory to reach the semifinals.

“My belief is always that we are fine and we can win the match. I think the opponent must do the same because if you already think you can lose, you will lose,” said Vanenburg.

“Malaysia is a very good team. When playing against the Philippines, they showed they have a good team but were unlucky in that match. So we have to prepare ourselves and we know they are very strong,” added the former Ajax U-21 technical director.
