Gerald Vanenburg announces U-23 squad without senior players

Gerald Vanenburg has announced Indonesia’s U-23 squad for the ASEAN Cup U-23 2025 — consisting entirely of domestic league players.

The 23-player roster was released through the national team’s official account with an average age of 20.8 years — Althaf Indie being the oldest and Jens Raven the youngest.

Several eligible senior players were not included in the list, including:

• Justin Hubner
• Rafael Struick
• Ivar Jenner
• Marselino Ferdinan

This decision opens opportunities for new young talents to develop. Two naturalized Dutch players — Tim Geypens from FC Emmen and Dion Markx from Top Oss — were also left out of the selected squad.
