Georgia Stanway Helps Family Attend Expensive Euro Championship in Switzerland

Georgia Stanway, Bayern Munich midfielder representing England, reveals her financial support for family members attending the European Championship in Switzerland — a country renowned for its high living costs.

While the Football Association (FA) provides equal travel budgets for each player’s family — matching the men’s team allocation, expenses in Switzerland significantly exceed this provision.

“Switzerland is a very expensive country. From flights to hotels, the cost of living there is extremely high, so we understand the burden it places on fans,” says Stanway.

“It’s difficult for us because we want to help as much as possible, even with our own families. Many of us are reaching into our own pockets to ensure our families can attend,” she adds.

Her teammate, Ella Toone, echoes similar concerns but remains determined to help her family stay throughout England’s tournament campaign.
