Gen.G and Sentinels Secure Playoff Spots at Masters Toronto

Gen.G and Sentinels have secured their spots in the Masters Toronto 2025 playoffs after each winning both of their matches over the last two days of the Swiss Stage.

Gen.G capped off the day with a decisive 2-0 win over Southeast Asian powerhouse Paper Rex, with Kim “t3xture” Na-ra led the charge with a dominating performance. While Ascent (Map 1) was a hard-fought 13-11 victory, Gen.G surprised everyone on Icebox (Map 2), cruising to a dominant 13-3 win with minimal resistance.

On the other side, Sentinels faced a tough battle against BiliBili Gaming, who showed strong early performances. The Red Giants lost Icebox 9-13 but bounced back strongly on Sunset, winning 13-5. The decider on Lotus proved challenging for Sentinels, who stumbled in the first half.

Trailing 5-7 at halftime, Sentinels stepped up their intensity after switching to the attacker side. They gained a strategic advantage by round 16. Despite BiliBili’s resistance, Sentinels, led by Mohamed “johnqt” Amine, played their hands patiently and closed out the final map 13-9.

Gen.G and Sentinels now await the playoff draw on June 14th to learn their opponents, while Paper Rex and BiliBili will play their final matches tomorrow (June 11th) to decide the last two playoff spots.
