Gasly Responds to Renault Group CEO de Meo’s Resignation

Pierre Gasly has responded to the announcement of Renault Group CEO Luca de Meo’s resignation — which will take effect from July 15.

“I have a very good relationship with Luca, he was the one who brought me into the team, and he’s a very inspiring person. My first reaction is obviously that I’m very sad to see him leave,” Gasly stated after finishing 15th in the Canadian GP.

Management changes are not new to the Alpine F1 team. Several key transitions have occurred in the past two years:

  • Otmar Szafnauer and Alan Permane departed in July 2023
  • Bruno Famin served as interim team chief
  • Oliver Oakes and Flavio Briatore joined last year
  • Oakes stepped down after 2025 Miami GP
  • Steve Nielsen is expected to become the next team principal

“We all have our jobs and roles. The important thing is to stay focused on what we need to do and do it best,” added the French driver when asked about team stability.
