Gasly Responds to Bottas to Alpine F1 Rumors

Driver Pierre Gasly has responded to rumors linking Valtteri Bottas to a racing seat at Alpine Formula 1 team. Bottas — who lost his contract with Sauber several months ago — currently serves as Mercedes reserve driver.

The Finnish driver’s management team has reportedly been in talks for a return to the F1 grid. During last month’s F1 Beyond The Grid podcast, Bottas revealed:

“I think there have been some discussions. I haven’t been directly involved, but my management team is always looking for opportunities. Alpine will use Mercedes power units — which I think is a good decision.”

Addressing the speculation during the British Grand Prix, Gasly emphasized — the team’s current situation requires focus on car development rather than driver transfer rumors. He noted that Alpine continues to struggle in the midfield without significant car improvements.

“This is just noise. I’m showing maximum performance every weekend with the car we have. Although we’re at the back, we need to stay focused on the work ahead,” stated the French driver.
