Gabriel Bortoleto reveals biggest challenge as F1 rookie

Gabriel Bortoleto, the 20-year-old Brazilian rookie driver, reveals that his biggest challenge in Formula 1 isn’t adapting to new circuits — but rather the intense schedule of media and sponsor commitments.

The consecutive Formula 3 and Formula 2 champion emphasizes the significant difference between F1 and previous racing categories:

“In F2, you come to the circuit, talk to your engineer, have coffee, relax, and watch onboards — your time is more flexible. In F1, every minute is scheduled for media and sponsors, making it difficult to find time to refresh your mind.”

Despite facing a packed schedule, the young driver has shown promising performance — including several Q2 appearances and a best finish of 12th at the Spanish GP.

Bortoleto acknowledges that he’s getting accustomed to his new routine:

“With each race, I’m getting more used to this situation. So far, I’ve been handling it quite well.”
