The departure of Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov to Team Falcons, which sent shockwaves through the esports scene, has left G2 Esports struggling as they prepare for the upcoming Intel Extreme Masters Melbourne 2025. And it appears the organization has opted for a short-term solution to fill the void.

Recently, G2 has officially acquired Olek “hades” Miskiewicz on loan until the end of IEM Melbourne 2025. The Polish was signed from Monte Esports, a team not currently competing in top-tier tournaments.

While this decision has sparked skepticism among G2’s fanbase, the team has been fully aware that they had limited alternatives given the scarcity of elite AWP players on the market during this period. Additionally, visa requirements for potential candidates would have been impossible to fulfill in such a short timeframe.

That said, Hades is not a player to sleep on. Prior to joining Monte, he notably secured victories in tournaments like ESL Challengers and BLAST Premier Spring while playing for Ence Esports during the 2022–2023 season.

For now, G2 fans seem to temper expectations, focusing primarily on the team’s efforts to avoid an early exit at IEM Melbourne. However, some hold cautious optimism about Hades’ potential to rebound, given his history of fluctuating performance.
