Amid swirling rumors over the past week, G2 Esports has finally confirmed that they have accepted the deal to sell their young star Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov to Team Falcons.

Via his personal X account, G2 Esports CEO Alban “Stilgar” Dechelotte stated that he made the decision to release m0NESY early — despite his contract originally expiring in December 2025. It appears the offer from Falcons was big enough to compel an immediate resolution.

“Rumors are true. We have decided to accept the trade of our young goat of CS. I can only ask you to direct your feedback to me and not to the CS management, staff or players as this was a decision on org-level.”

Stilgar acknowledged that it was a difficult decision, given the numerous achievements the team clinched with the Russian prodigy. Most notably, G2 claimed six trophies over the past two years, including titles in the Intel Extreme Masters series.

“I’m very sad to see Ilya go but I wish him the best and thank him for the magic moment he gave us. After 4 years of failing to lift CS trophies under the previous management, this roster and their staff have finally landed 6 trophies in the last 2 years for the G2 banner including Cologne and Katowice among others.”

This move will see m0NESY replace Abdulkhalik “degster” Gasanov on Falcons. Meanwhile, G2 is reportedly in talks to secure a loanee as a short-term solution while searching for a suitable replacement for m0NESY.
