G2 Esports CEO Alban “Stilgar” Dechelotte has broken his silence on swirling rumors linking Russian CSGO star Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov to a surprise transfer to rival Team Falcons. The speculation emerged following a claim that said Falcons were looking for a replacement for their current sniper, Abdulkhalik “degster” Gasanov, before the start of BLAST.tv Austin Major in June 2025.

As m0NESY’s contract with G2 coming to an end, rumors of Falcons’ interest intensified on social media, with analysts and players debating the move’s likelihood and impact. Stilgar eventually addressed fans via X regarding the situation around his team.

“What a lovely day…not to be on socials. Need to wait for some deadlines to talk but I will come back to you next week with our side of the story and our plans for the future.”

Rumors aside, this transfer could break records, as Falcons are reportedly willing to break the bank and pay an even higher fee to secure the 19-year-old phenom’s signature. Previously, m0NESY sent shockwaves across the competitive scene when G2 bought him from NaVi for roughly $600,000 in early 2022.

The rumored move has sparked backlash from fans. Many argue that Falcons’ current lineup isn’t competitive enough to justify m0NESY’s talent. Critics fear the young sniper might waste his potential by joining a team perceived as less driven, prioritizing a hefty salary over title ambitions.
