Frengky Missa returns to Indonesia U-23 squad replacing injured player

Gerald Vanenburg, the Indonesia U-23 national team coach, has made an unexpected decision regarding squad composition for ASEAN Cup U-23 2025 — recalling Frengky Missa who was previously cut from the team.

This change occurred after Mikael Tata from Persebaya Surabaya — initially selected as left wing-back — faced health issues forcing his withdrawal from the squad.

“Actually, Frengky Missa was already out,” Vanenburg stated regarding the situation.

Missa has now officially rejoined the final 23-player roster that will represent the Young Garuda in this regional tournament.
