Former Indonesia National Team Opponent Officially Joins Watford from Bayern Munich

According to Watford’s official Instagram @watfordfcofficial, Nestory Irankunda has officially joined Watford on a long-term contract from Bayern Munich.

The 19-year-old player has memories in Indonesia — having played against the Indonesian National Team in the 2026 World Cup Qualification match at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium about 10 months ago.

In that goalless draw match, Irankunda played as the main striker in a 4-4-2 formation for 59 minutes.

“We proudly confirm the arrival of talented striker Nestory Irankunda with a long-term permanent contract from Bayern Munich,” stated Watford.

Irankunda’s move to Watford opens up the possibility of meeting Marselino Ferdinan — an Indonesian National Team player who now plays for rival club Oxford United.
