Ford Partners with ORECA for 2027 Le Mans Hypercar Program

Ford has announced a strategic partnership with ORECA as the chassis development partner for their return to the 2027 World Endurance Championship (WEC). This decision marks a crucial step — considering ORECA’s successful track record in chassis development for Acura and Alpine.

Jim Farley, Ford CEO, emphasizes the company’s ambition:

“Partnering with ORECA is a proud moment for Ford. We are coming back to Le Mans to win, and we aren’t making that a secret.”

The program will be led by Dan Sayers — who previously served as Red Bull Powertrains program director. Sayers brings valuable experience from his role in developing Red Bull’s 2026 Formula 1 engine and his tenure as Aston Martin Racing technical director.

Mark Rushbrook, Ford Performance global director, states that selecting ORECA and appointing Sayers represent crucial foundations for the program — though details about the engine to be used remain unannounced.
