Fly Voices Frustration Over Jakiro’s Dominance in Dota 2 Patch 7.38c

BetBoom Team captain Tal “Aizik” Fly recently shared his frustrations about the overwhelming prevalence of Jakiro in current Dota 2 competitions, particularly in the 7.38c patch meta.

During a recent interview at the Blast Slam 3 event, the Israeli expressed his annoyance with teams’ overreliance on drafting Jakiro as a core pick in nearly every major tournament lineup.

“My least favorite thing about this patch is every carry needs to play Jakiro every game. I’m bored, man. Give me some Phoenix or Chen maybe. But no—you have to play Jakiro.”

Fly’s criticism is understandable, as Jakiro has skyrocketed to one of the most-picked heroes since the start of the 2025 competitive season. Current data shows its pick rate has surged from 16% to 42%, securing it a spot among the top three most-picked heroes at Blast Slam 3 at the moment.

Jakiro’s popularity is clearly no surprise, given the meta’s heavy focus on area-of-effect strategies. The hero offers a straightforward yet effective solution for carry players, thanks to its versatile toolkit of crowd-control abilities, which are invaluable in team compositions.
