Prediksi Flavio Cobolli vs Novak Djokovic di Wimbledon ATP (09.07.2025)

On Wednesday, July 9, after 18:00 WIB, Flavio Cobolli and Novak Djokovic will face off on one of the courts at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in the quarterfinals of the men’s singles draw at Wimbledon 2025. The 23-year-old Italian is currently ranked 24th in the ATP world rankings, while the 38-year-old Serbian holds the sixth position.

In the Cobolli vs Djokovic matchup, bookmakers’ predictions are clear: the Serbian is a heavy favorite. A bet on the Italian to win comes with odds of 10.10, while Djokovic’s win is priced at a very low 1.09. Experts even believe that the match won’t last more than three sets. The total sets under 3.5 is offered at 1.76, and the most likely score of 0:3 is priced at 1.79.

Flavio Cobolli

The Italian represents the new generation of players and, thanks to his Wimbledon performance, is expected to break into the world’s top 20 for the first time. Although Cobolli is primarily a clay-court specialist, he has climbed surprisingly far in this tournament. This quarterfinal is not only his best result at Wimbledon, but also across all Grand Slam tournaments. On his way to this stage, he defeated:

  • Beibit Zhukayev (Kazakhstan, ranked 247): 6-3, 7-6, 6-1
  • Jack Pinnington Jones (Great Britain, ranked 281): 6-1, 7-6, 6-2
  • Jakub Mensik (Czech Republic, ranked 17): 6-2, 6-4, 6-2
  • Marin Cilic (Croatia, ranked 83): 6-4, 6-4, 6-7, 7-6

His win over Cilic — who remains a tough opponent on grass even at this stage in his career — speaks volumes about Cobolli’s growing ambitions.

Novak Djokovic

The “Djoker” is a seven-time Wimbledon champion. The Serbian has played in the last six finals on Centre Court at the All England Club. Yes, he lost the last two to Carlos Alcaraz, but let’s not forget Djokovic’s age. He came into this year’s grass-court Grand Slam with minimal preparation, having lost a single match at Hurlingham. Still, he reached the quarterfinals with relative ease, defeating:

  • Alexandre Muller (France, ranked 41): 6-1, 6-7, 6-2, 6-2
  • Daniel Evans (Great Britain, ranked 154): 6-3, 6-2, 6-0
  • Miomir Kecmanovic (Serbia, ranked 49): 6-3, 6-0, 6-4
  • Alex de Minaur (Australia, ranked 11): 1-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4

During the tournament, Djokovic recorded his 100th Wimbledon match win and passed the milestone of more than 50 “bagels” (6-0 sets) delivered in Grand Slam matches throughout his career.

Stats and Head-to-Head Record

The two players have met once before. In October of last year on a hard court in Shanghai, Djokovic gave the young Italian no chance, winning 6-1, 6-2.

Prediction

Novak Djokovic looks extremely solid. After dropping the first set against De Minaur, he closed out the match with superior class. The prediction here is a Djokovic win with a -6.5 games handicap at odds of 1.64.
