The 2024–2025 League 4 round of 64 has officially commenced, featuring a notable highlight: five former Indonesia national team players are now serving as head coaches for participating clubs.

League 4, Indonesia’s lowest-tier football competition, comprises 64 teams divided into 16 groups. Each group contains four teams competing for advancement to the next stage.

Among the notable figures, Ahmad Bustomi, a former midfielder who played in the 2010 AFF Cup, now leads Persema Malang in Group H. His former national teammate, Arif Suyono, is managing Persikoba Kota Batu, marking successful transitions from players to coaches.

Additionally, Stefan Rullin Keeltjes, who previously played for Persebaya Surabaya and represented Indonesia U23, is now the head coach of Gresik United.

Liestiadi, with experience as an assistant coach for various Indonesian national youth teams, is currently managing Sriwijaya FC. Kurniawan Dwi Yulianto, one of Indonesia’s top scorers with 33 goals in 59 appearances, is coaching PSIM Yogyakarta.

This trend underscores the commitment of former national players to nurture grassroots football by imparting their experience and leadership to lower-tier teams.
