Five Drivers Compete for Last Four Spots at NASCAR Chicago Street Course

The NASCAR Cup Series event at Chicago Street Course this weekend will feature a rare moment — one driver will not qualify for the main race. This marks the first elimination qualifying outside of Daytona 500 since the Texas Motor Speedway race seven years ago.

Five drivers will compete for the final four grid positions, complementing the 36 regular teams. They are:

  • Will Brown in Kaulig Racing Chevrolet No. 13 — defending Australian Supercars champion currently leading the 2025 championship
  • Austin Hill in Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet No. 33 — NASCAR Xfinity Series regular with 13 victories
  • Josh Bilicki in Garage 66 Ford No. 66 — veteran with 103 Cup Series starts
  • Corey Heim in 23XI Racing Toyota No. 67 — 2025 NASCAR Truck Series points leader
  • Katherine Legge in Live Fast Motorsports Chevrolet No. 78 — experienced IMSA racer with four wins

Competition is expected to be intense given each driver’s experience and achievements — particularly on road courses. One among them must depart early after the qualifying session.
