Filippo Inzaghi appointed as Palermo coach, Emil Audero’s future uncertain

Filippo Inzaghi has officially signed a contract as Palermo FC’s new coach — a decision that could potentially affect the future of Indonesian national team goalkeeper, Emil Audero.

The former AC Milan striker joins the City Football Group-owned club with a two-year contract, plus a one-year extension option if he succeeds in promoting Palermo to Serie A.

Inzaghi leaves behind an impressive achievement at Pisa SC — a club he led to finish as Serie B runners-up in the 2024-2025 season, ending their 34-year wait for a return to Serie A.

The transfer process of the 51-year-old coach was unique, as Palermo had to conduct transfer negotiations similar to player acquisitions with Pisa SC.
