Fikri/Daniel defeat South Korean top seeds at Asian Championships 2025

Muhammad Shohibul Fikri/Daniel Marthin successfully overcame a tough challenge in the round of 16 at the 2025 Asian Championships held at the Ningbo Olympic Sports Center, China.

The Indonesian men’s doubles pair — defeated South Korean duo Seo Seung-jae/Kim Won-ho with scores of 18-21, 21-17, 21-15 in an intense match.

Despite falling behind in the first game and facing pressure mid-second game — Fikri/Daniel managed to turn things around. In the deciding game, they recovered from an 11-13 deficit after the interval and only conceded two additional points to their opponents.

“Thank God, we were able to capitalize on the momentum in the final stages. We kept pushing, showing our fighting spirit,” said Daniel Marthin.

This victory stands as a significant achievement, considering Seo Seung-jae is a top player who claimed two gold medals at the 2023 World Championships.
