The Indonesian U-17 National Team’s qualification for the 2025 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Qatar (slated for November 2025) marks a historic moment for the nation’s football legacy. And beyond the pitch, Indonesia is also making waves in esports.

Bolstered by exceptional tactical and mechanical skills, Indonesian esports has witnessed proud accomplishments from local players who have rivaled established names in international competitions. These achievements are a testament to their relentless hard work, consistently demonstrated all the way from domestic to Asian tournaments.

So, what are Indonesia’s recent proud achievements in football?

FIFAe World Cup 2024 eFootball (Console)

The dynamic duo of Rizky Faidan and Elga “Elgacor” Cahya Putra etched their names in history by winning the FIFAe World Cup 2024 in Saudi Arabia. Defeating Brazil’s STS_Jvictor and PV_efootball in a thrilling 2-1 final.

Before reaching the FIFAe World Cup 2024 final, the pair had already won the AFC eAsian Cup 2024 and advanced to the World Cup group stage. They began in Group A, facing tough opponents like the Netherlands and Spain.

Despite a stumble against Spain, the Indonesian eFootball National Team pushed through to the playoffs, eliminating Morocco (quarterfinals) and Turkey (semifinals) to meet Brazil in the final.

Post-victory, both players joined the Indonesian esports titan RRQ to spearhead its debut in sports simulation gaming.

Before FIFAe, Faidan and Elgacor had already made names for themselves through achievements in Asian and global eFootball competitions. Faidan made waves at the PES League 2019 final, while Elgacor claimed the gold medal at the IESF World Championship 2022 in Bali.

FIFAe Football Manager 2024

In addition of eFootball, Indonesian supporters were also amazed by the duo of Ichsan Rahmat Taufiq (manager) and Budi Muhamad Manar Hidayat (assistant manager), who competed in the FIFAe Football Manager 2024 championship.

Facing Germany in the final, they defeated the team led by Sven Goly (manager) and T Wheneett (assistant manager) with scores of 3-0 and 5-2.

Before advancing to the final, Indonesia was in the Group C and managing Sporting Lisbon. Ichsan and Budi secured a semifinal spot after topping the group with 364 points, earned through their three-season performance with the club.

They outperformed other Group C participants like Poland (343 points), France (331), England (295), and India (265). In the semifinals, Indonesia faced host nation England, represented by Arron “RDF_Tactics” Falloon and Matt “SecondYellowCard” Mullen. The first leg ended in a 2-2 draw, but Indonesia triumphed 3-1 in the second leg, clinching a 5-3 aggregate victory.

With months of preparation ahead of this year’s FIFAe tournaments, Indonesian national team players have sufficient preparation to train optimally and defend their prestigious championship titles.
