Ferrari Remains Le Mans 2025 Favorite Despite Starting Seventh

Based on analysis from various competing teams, the Ferrari 499P — starting from seventh position — remains the top favorite to win this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans.

David Floury, technical director of Toyota Gazoo Racing Europe, acknowledges Ferrari’s advantage in race pace — though his own team will struggle hard to compete at the front.

“It looks quite easy for them,” Floury said about Ferrari’s performance.

Porsche has made significant improvements to their 963 LMDh model — particularly in straight-line speed which was their weakness last year.

Toyota also made headlines by introducing their GR LH2 hydrogen car — a step forward towards the target of alternative fuel racing at Le Mans 2028.

Meanwhile, the Peugeot 9X8 2024 LMH is experiencing major difficulties — both cars even failed to pass first qualifying. Loic Duval, Peugeot driver, admits that finishing in the top five will be extremely challenging.

An unexpected issue arose during practice sessions — numerous insects sticking to windshields impaired drivers’ visibility, especially during the transition from day to night.
