Fenerbahçe vs Feyenoord: UEFA Champions League Prediction (12.08.2025)

On Tuesday, August 12, at 22:00 Astana time, at the Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium in Istanbul, local club Fenerbahçe will host Feyenoord from Rotterdam in the second leg of the 2025–2026 UEFA Champions League third qualifying round. In the first match in the Netherlands, the Dutch side won 2–1, scoring the decisive goal in the 90+1st minute.

For the return fixture, bookmakers consider the hosts favourites to win the match, but see the teams’ chances of advancing to the next round as roughly equal. A home win for the “Yellow-Navy Blues” in regular time is priced at 1.65, while their qualification is at 1.95. For the “Red-White-and-Blacks,” the same markets stand at 4.85 and 1.85, respectively. The Istanbul clash is expected to be high-scoring: over 2.5 total goals is offered at 1.58, while both teams to score is priced at 1.59.

Fenerbahçe

José Mourinho’s team struggled in attack in the first leg. Despite having more possession and some territorial initiative, the flank forwards — Irfan Kahveci on the right and Oğuz Aydın on the left — were ineffective and were substituted early in the second half.
The only high praise went to Sofyan Amrabat, who scored in the 86th minute. On the other hand, the worst performer was the “Yellow Canaries” goalkeeper, 27-year-old Irfan Eğribayat. At the end of last season, he had already been relegated to the bench, and now risks losing his starting place again.

Feyenoord

Robin van Persie’s side did not dominate the first match, but their wide players made the difference. Quinten Timber was excellent down the right flank, while 23-year-old Algerian Anis Moussa caused problems on the left. Both were the scorers for Feyenoord, with Timber also named man of the match. However, overall the team still showed signs of not being fully ready to maintain a high tempo for the full 90 minutes — unsurprising given the season has just started.

Statistics and Head-to-Head

In the first match, the Dutch side led in shots toward goal (13–8) and shots on target (3–2). However, the Turks had more corners (5–3) and more accurate passes (381–292).

Prediction

Both Mourinho and Van Persie favour attacking football, and the players are gradually gaining match sharpness. The tip: both teams to score at odds of 1.59.
