Febriana and Amallia Lose in Thailand Open 2025 Quarterfinals

Febriana Dwipuji Kusuma and Amallia Cahaya Pratiwi suffered a surprising defeat in the quarterfinals of the Thailand Open 2025 held at Nimibutr Stadium, Bangkok.

The second-seeded pair performed well below their best — failing to overcome the challenge from unseeded South Korean duo Jeong Na-eun and Lee Yeon-woo.

In the first game, Febriana and Amallia immediately faced heavy pressure — trailing 7-11 at the interval. Although they fought back to narrow the gap to 11-12, the Indonesian pair struggled to maintain the game’s momentum.

Communication issues and unforced errors were the main factors in their defeat — compounded by a monotonous playing pattern that made them easy to read for their opponents.
