Karel Mainaky Highlights Febi Setianingrum’s 2025 Progress

The head coach of Indonesia’s women’s doubles team, Karel Mainaky, shared his assessment of Febi Setianingrum’s progress alongside partner Apriyani Rahayu — a pair that has now competed in four major tournaments.

This new partnership has played in the following key tournaments:

  • Taipei Open 2025
  • Thailand Open 2025
  • Malaysia Masters 2025
  • Indonesia Open 2025

Their best achievement so far came at the Malaysia Masters Super 500 — where they reached the semifinals after defeating the world’s No. 6 women’s doubles pair, Li Yi Jing/Luo Xu Mun, with scores of 11-21, 21-17, 21-19.

In the same tournament, they also put up a tough fight against the world’s No. 1 Chinese pair, Liu Sheng Shu/Tan Ning, though they eventually lost 21-12, 7-21, 9-21.

Their impressive form continued at the Indonesia Open 2025 — with Apri/Febi defeating Taiwan’s world No. 18 pair, Chang Ching Hui/Yang Ching Tun, in the Round of 32.
