FC Twente Struggling to Find Buyers for Mees Hilgers

FC Twente faces obstacles in their attempt to sell Mees Hilgers during this summer’s transfer window — the club has yet to receive serious offers for the defender.

The player’s contract situation, which ends in 2026, forces the club to make a prompt decision — both parties haven’t engaged in talks for a new contract extension.

“Currently, there are no concrete offers from clubs for Hilgers,” states Leon ten Voorde, a journalist who has covered Twente for several decades.

The Tukkers need fresh funds from player sales to bring in new recruits — however, they’re finding it difficult to locate clubs seriously interested in Hilgers.
