FAM Reports Inverted Malaysian Flag Incident to AFF and AFC

The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) is taking firm action regarding the inverted Malaysian flag incident at Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK) — they will report the incident to AFF and AFC.

The incident occurred during the U-23 match between Indonesia and Malaysia that ended in a 0-0 draw — a group of Indonesian supporters were seen carrying an inverted Malaysian flag with a black X mark on it.

Malaysian public expressed their outrage over the incident — they consider the action as an insult to the Jalur Gemilang flag which is Malaysia’s national symbol.

FAM emphasizes they will follow up on this incident seriously — they will request explanation and further investigation from regional football bodies.
