Indonesia’s men’s doubles pair Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto secured the decisive point for Team Rajawali, winning 3-2 in the 2025 Sudirman Cup simulation held at PBSI National Training Center in Cipayung, Jakarta.

In the fifth and final match, Fajar/Rian edged out fellow Indonesians Muhammad Shohibul Fikri/Daniel Marthin in a thrilling three-game battle: 21-16, 17-21, 21-18.

“This kind of simulation is very important because team events are very different from individual tournaments,” said Fajar.

“This tournament only happens every two years, so simulations like this help us build team chemistry and competitive atmosphere.”

Indonesia has been drawn into Group D alongside India, England, and Denmark for the upcoming Sudirman Cup 2025 to be held in Xiamen, China.

“In men’s doubles, Denmark has world number one Kim Astrup/Anders Skaarup Rasmussen, India has Satwiksairaj Rankireddy/Chirag Shetty, and England’s pairs are also tough opponents,” Rian explained.

Indonesia is set to field three men’s doubles pairs in the tournament:

  • Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto

  • Muhammad Shohibul Fikri/Daniel Marthin

  • Leo Rolly Carnando/Bagas Maulana
