Fajar/Rian Apply Smart Strategy in Singapore Open 2025 First Round

Fajar Alfian and Muhammad Rian Ardianto booked a place in the round of 16 of the Singapore Open 2025 after a solid performance against Nur Mohd Azriyn Ayub Azriyn at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, Kallang.

As the sixth seeds, the Indonesian men’s doubles team overcame difficult court conditions, securing a straight-game victory with scores of 21-16, 21-18.

Speaking after the match, Fajar expressed relief and gratitude:

“Alhamdulillah, the first match went smoothly although we made several unforced errors,” he stated through PBSI’s official release.

Facing strong wind conditions, Fajar/Rian used a smart strategy — focusing on fast drives and quick rallies to neutralize the shuttle’s erratic movement. The pair adapted well by playing more aggressively and actively at the net.
