Fajar/Rian Complete Five Indonesian Representatives in Indonesia Open Quarterfinals

Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto became the fifth and final Indonesian pair to book a place in the quarterfinals of the Indonesia Open 2025, held at Istora Senayan, Jakarta.

Their victory over Chen Bo Yang/Liu Yi added to the list of home representatives progressing to the last eight of this BWF Super 1000 tournament.

Tough Start Against Chinese Opponents

The match began with early struggles for Fajar/Rian, who trailed 0-3 due to three consecutive unforced errors. Although they fought to close the gap, the Indonesian pair remained four points behind at the first interval.

However, a noticeable shift in momentum after the break saw them narrow the margin to 9-11.

Late Surge Secures Game Point

Chen/Liu pushed ahead again to lead 15-12, but Fajar/Rian responded with determination, leveling the score at 15-15.

After briefly falling behind again, the Indonesian duo surged with four straight points, turning the tide to 19-16. They eventually closed the first game at 20-17, claiming a vital opening set win.
