Fajar/Rian Face Tough Battle in Indonesia Open 2025 Quarter-finals

Fajar Alfian and Muhammad Rian Ardianto, have secured a spot in the Indonesia Open 2025 semifinals following a hard-fought victory at Istora Senayan, Jakarta.

First-Ever Clash with Chinese Pair

The Indonesian men’s doubles team — two-time All England champions — faced a tough challenge against Huang Di and Liu Yang, a Chinese pair ranked 24th in the world.

This was the first meeting between the two pairs, and Fajar/Rian had to make quick tactical adjustments. The match was highly competitive, with momentum constantly shifting and intense point exchanges characterizing the encounter.

Opening Game: Neck-and-Neck Battle

In the opening game, both sides were still gauging each other’s rhythm. Fajar/Rian held a narrow 7–6 lead in the early stages as both pairs engaged in short rallies and committed occasional unforced errors. The pace gradually increased as the players settled into the match.
