Fajar/Rian fail to advance to Asian Championships 2025 semifinals

Indonesian men’s doubles pair Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto ended their journey at the 2025 Asian Championships after suffering a defeat against Malaysian representatives Aaron Chia/Soh Wooi Yik at the Ningbo Olympic Sports Center.

In today’s quarterfinal match — the former world number one doubles pair lost in straight games with scores of 16-21, 11-21.

The match was initially tight — both pairs traded points until a 7-7 deadlock. However, the Malaysian pair, coached by Indonesian trainers Rexy Mainaky and Herry Iman Pierngadi, managed to pull away and establish a three-point lead at the first game interval.
