Fajar/Rian advance to quarterfinals after tight battle with Thai pair

Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto have advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2025 Asian Championships taking place at the Ningbo Olympic Sports Center, China.

The third-seeded Indonesian men’s doubles pair — defeated Thai duo Chaloempon Charoenkitamorn/Worrapol Thongsa-Nga with scores of 21-19, 23-21 in a 42-minute encounter.

The round of 16 match proved to be intense — as both pairs engaged in a fierce battle reaching a 10-10 deadlock in the first game. The world number 54 Thai pair managed to take a 13-10 lead after the interval.

Despite falling behind, Fajar/Rian managed to recover and level the score to 14-15 — before eventually closing out the match in straight games.
