Fajar/Rian Advance to Asian Championships Quarterfinals after Defeating Thai Pair

Indonesian men’s doubles Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2025 Asian Championships after defeating Thai representatives Chaloempon Charoenkitamorn/Worrapol Thongsa-Nga in Bangkok today.

The world’s fourth-ranked pair — completed the match in 42 minutes with scores of 21-19, 23-21.

“Although we won, today wasn’t our best performance,” stated Fajar Alfian after the match.

“I was too eager several times, losing points twice in a row because of hitting too aggressively until two racquet strings broke,” he added.

Despite successfully eliminating the world number 54 pair — Fajar acknowledged they were too hasty to finish the match despite being in a leading position.
