F1 Canadian GP Extends Contract until 2035 at Gilles Villeneuve Circuit

Formula 1 has announced a contract extension with the Canadian GP at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve — securing the Montreal race on the calendar until 2035, a six-year extension from the previous contract ending in 2031.

Stefano Domenicali, F1 chief, highlighted Montreal’s importance in the sport’s history. “Montreal is an incredible city with passionate fans — we are delighted to continue racing here until the 2035 season,” he stated.

“We are incredibly proud to confirm that the Formula 1 Grand Prix du Canada will continue its yearly stop in Montreal for another decade, through 2035,” said Jean-Philippe Paradis, head of race organization.

Significant changes are planned — the race will move from its traditional June schedule to mid-May, bringing it closer to the Miami GP. A three-year facility improvement plan is underway, including expanded team hospitality areas and additional access via Victoria Bridge to reduce traffic congestion.
