Ezpeleta threatens to reject Jorge Martin’s MotoGP 2026 entry

According to Sky Italia, Dorna CEO Carmelo Ezpeleta has issued a stern warning regarding Jorge Martin’s MotoGP future — they will not accept the registration of riders still bound by contracts with other teams.

The contract dispute emerged after Martin claimed freedom for the 2026 season based on a results clause, while Aprilia maintains his contract remains valid as the rider has only participated in one race during the 2025 season.

“We will not accept the registration of any rider who is not free, either through a judge’s ruling or through agreement with the other party,” Ezpeleta stated firmly.

Aprilia team manager Massimo Rivola reinforced his team’s position:

“For us, the rider has a two-year contract and is not free. Obviously he can’t go where he wants. We will do everything in our power to protect the company.”

Honda has shown interest in acquiring Martin, but HRC team manager Alberto Puig stated — they won’t get involved until Martin’s contract status is clear.
