Evos and Dewa Esports Fail to Secure MPL ID Season 15 Playoffs

Evos and Dewa Esports have ended their final bid for the MPL ID Season 15 playoff ticket with disappointing results in the eighth week of the Regular Season, which concluded last Sunday (18/5).

Both teams revamped their squads ahead of the second half of the Regular Season, but their hopes for improvement fell short. Meanwhile, rival teams capitalized on the same opportunities to solidify their standings.

The Blue Tiger introduced veteran player Jabran “Branz” Bagus mid-season and repositioned their flexible star, Nicodemus “Natco” Dustin, into a critical role. However, since week five, they’ve managed only one victory against Onic ID and lost all subsequent matches.

Meanwhile, The Sons of God faced similar struggles as they brought in fresh bloods Muhammad “Rezzz” Kurniawan, Adhitya “Spencer” Barus, and Samsu “KESUUU” Pratama mid-season. Despite a surprising win against RRQ Hoshi yesterday, they failed to secure crucial points against Bigetron, sealing their elimination.

For Dewa, this marks their third consecutive failure to qualify for the MPL ID playoffs since 2024. However, their challenges pale in comparison to Evos’ struggles, as the legendary team faces deeper issues.

Since mid-2021, the former international champions have failed to secure an MPL ID title and consistently underperformed in high-stakes matches. While their unexpected runner-up finishes in Seasons 12 and 13 offered a glimpse of hope, these results remain underwhelming for a team with such a storied legacy.
