Everton Target Young Villarreal Striker Thierno Barry

According to ESPN, Thierno Barry has become Everton’s primary target to strengthen their attacking line ahead of the new season. The Premier League club is in negotiations with Villarreal and hasn’t ruled out triggering the €40 million release clause.

The 22-year-old French striker — currently representing France U-21s at the European Championship — impressed with Villarreal last season by scoring 11 goals and providing 4 assists in 35 LaLiga appearances.

Barry joined Villarreal a year ago from Swiss club Basel for a €13.5 million fee plus bonuses. Under manager Marcelino García’s guidance, he immediately established himself as the team’s main striker.
