European clubs choose ASEAN for pre-season, Man United faces surprising result

Several European elite clubs have chosen Southeast Asia as their pre-season destination — with Manchester United already starting their series of matches in the region.

Manchester United began their pre-season tour with a disappointing result — Erik ten Hag’s team suffered a 0-1 defeat against ASEAN All-Stars at Bukit Jalil Stadium, Kuala Lumpur about a month ago. The ASEAN combined team coached by Kim Sang-sik featured two Indonesian players, Kakang Rudianto and Malik Risaldi.

Singapore becomes the next destination for European clubs’ pre-season matches — Arsenal, AC Milan, and Newcastle United are scheduled to play in the country next month.
