Erick Thohir supports Vanenburg’s stern warning to Jens Raven

PSSI Chairman Erick Thohir has expressed support for Indonesia U-23 coach Gerald Vanenburg who issued a stern warning to Jens Raven regarding his controversial celebration.

The 19-year-old striker received a serious reprimand from his coach — after performing the “pacu jalur” celebration following his penalty goal against Brunei Darussalam at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium.

Despite Indonesia’s commanding 8-0 victory and Raven’s six-goal contribution — the Dutch coach threatened to bench the Bali United player if he repeats the same celebration.

The “pacu jalur” celebration has recently gone viral and been widely imitated across different sports — from football players to MotoGP racers like Marc Marquez.
