Erick Thohir successfully changes Indonesia vs Iraq match schedule

According to Bolasport.com, PSSI Chairman Erick Thohir has successfully advocated for schedule changes for Indonesia’s national team match in 2026 World Cup Qualifiers.

PSSI submitted a protest to AFC regarding Indonesia’s match schedule against Iraq in Group B Fourth Round of 2026 World Cup Qualifiers Asia zone — the game to be held at King Abdullah Stadium, Jeddah.

The request to change the schedule from 18:00 to 22:30 local time was approved by AFC — this decision was made considering fair play aspects in football.

“I think PSSI will not remain silent,” said Erick Thohir, who admits to frequently voicing Indonesia’s interests to AFC and AFF.
