Erick Thohir praises Women’s National Team despite loss to Pakistan

PSSI Chairman Erick Thohir expressed appreciation for Indonesia Women’s National Team — despite their loss to Pakistan in the 2026 AFC Women’s Asian Cup Qualification match at Indomilk Arena Stadium, Tangerang.

Satoru Mochizuki’s squad started the match well — but had to acknowledge Pakistan’s superiority with a final score of 0-2 in their second Group D match.

The Garuda Pertiwi team initially dominated the game early in the first half — but conceded through Pakistan’s quick counterattack in the 8th minute by Nadia Khan.

The goal guarded by Gea Yumanda and Iris de Rouw was breached again in the 18th minute — making Shafira Ika and teammates’ efforts to chase the deficit increasingly difficult.
