Erick Thohir meets FIFA Secretary General to discuss youth football development

Erick Thohir held a meeting with FIFA Secretary General Mattias Grafstrom to report on youth football development in Indonesia, according to information shared through his personal Instagram account.

The PSSI Chairman presented positive outcomes from youth development programs — including Indonesia’s successful hosting of the U-17 Asian Cup last year.

“We are pleased that FIFA gave us the opportunity to host the U17 World Cup in 2023,” stated Erick Thohir.

“Alhamdulillah, the Indonesian U-17 national team has now qualified for the 2025 U-17 World Cup through the qualification path,” he added.

During the meeting, Thohir also expressed appreciation for FIFA’s continuous support of grassroots development programs in Indonesia.
